Latest Apple rumours have suggested that the Cupertino company has partnered with Intel to work on a new Apple Smart Watch device, tipped for an early 2013 unveiling.
Seemingly set to follow a design similar to that of the past generation iPod Nanos, the rumoured Apple Smart Watch is said to host a compact 1.5-inch OLED touchscreen display with indium tin oxide coated glass. Tipped to run the company’s iPhone and iPad packing iOS mobile operating system, the expected Apple Smart Watch release date has been rumoured to follow an unveiling in the first half of the new year.
Whilst little is currently known about the rumoured Apple Smart Watch, an Apple branded wrist worn gadget would be expected to help reinvigorate a market currently failing to capture widespread public interest. With Sony and LG having both launched Smart Watches to little acclaim, an Apple branded product is said to be in the works in partnership with Intel, with the as yet unconfirmed device said to be capable of talking to iPhone handsets via a low-power Bluetooth connection.
The new Apple Smart Watch rumours, which have come out of Asia, have offered little details on the mooted wrist wear from the iMac and Apple TV manufacturer, with little answered as to whether the device will be able to host its own applications or simply relay details and alerts sent from Apple handsets.
Far from the only Apple product rumoured for a 2013 release date, recent Apple rumours have seen the Cupertino company tipped to expand all key lines in the coming 12 months with a fifth-generation iPad to launch in the same calendar year as the iPhone 5S and an iPad mini 2 with Retina display.
Elsewhere, the long rumoured Apple iTV release date is expected for 2013 with industry analysts claiming that Apple’s first television set will touch down in October 2013 ahead of a pre-Christmas release date.
