In typical fashion, much of the overblown fanfare revolved around gigantic television sets with bendy, super-sharp 8K displays that consumers can only dream of owning (and affording). Thankfully, though, a wide range of equally impressive 4K TVs that will actually hit the market this year were also unveiled and intriguingly, all of the big companies decided to tie their Smart TV interfaces into different operating systems, with Panasonic opting to run its 2015 line on Firefox OS, Samsung going for Tizen, Sony picking Android TV and LG using webOS 2.0.

Wearables also predictably played a big role in CES 2015, but in a good way. Rather than getting depressed at the sight of yet more overpriced, battery-stunted smartwatches, we actually uncovered a handful of affordable, well-thought-out models that we're looking forward to seeing on the market. More traditional products, such as laptops and smartphones, were also out in their droves.
Moneybags firms like Samsung and Sony inevitably feature in this round-up, but so do a fair few less-celebrated companies, like Mad Catz, Alcatel OneTouch and Withings, which produced some of the most memorable devices we came across.
