CyberLink PowerDVD 13 – Movie Library
The more visually appealing new addition to Power DVD 13 is the improvements to the Movie Library. The software discovers what the movie content is and automatically assigns cover art. Hovering over a particular movie file also bring up a pop-up windows displaying basic information like genre and release date pulled from the vast PowerDVD archives. Movies can be searched for in various ways too, employing filters such as any movies not yet watched or the top ten most played.
Additional information for any movies comes courtesy of CyberLink’s MoovieLive, which offers details on cast and synopsis as well as offering user-created reviews of the said movie. MoovieLive subscribers can also add their own reviews to the available information.
CyberLink PowerDVD 13 – PowerDVD Mobile Apps
Installing the CyberLink PowerDVD Mobile apps for iOS, Android and Windows 8 not only offers a Cinema Mode remote for the desktop version, but also streams content from home media servers. CyberLink has also made it possible to convert any videos streamed from the Pc to a compatible format for the notoriously difficult iPad devices.
You can then either directly stream any content from the home media server onto the iPad via the app, but also download the file in a compatible playback format to take away with you and watch later offline.
CyberLink PowerDVD 13 may not be revolutionary, but it offers a host of new features to enhance your movie and media content viewing experience, especially with the addition of TrueTheater technology. However, the highly-usable and responsive media player does come at a price that will put a large number of users off. If you are happy to pay the price, however, you will find PowerDVD 13 a powerful movie player that is more than capable of handling any file you provide.
