Rise of the Tomb Raider PC sales almost triple that of Xbox One

Rise of the Tomb Raider’s first month of PC sales have almost tripled the number of copies sold on Xbox One in the same period of time last November.

Lara Croft’s latest adventure launched exclusively for the Xbox One in November 2015, only coming to PC at the end of last month.

Well it seems PC players were pretty eager to raid some tombs, as the game has sold far better on Steam than any other platform.

Research group Superdata recently released its digital sales report for January 2016, which revealed just how well Rise of the Tomb Raider has performed on PC.

The game sold nearly three times as many copies on PC in its first month of release than Xbox One.

Square Enix has yet to release any official sales figures, but said previously it is “very happy” with the game’s performance.

The Xbox One version has sold “well over 1 million copies,” according to Square Enix. It’s no surprise the PC version has performed so well, releasing at such a quiet time of year.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch on PS4 in Winter 2016 due to an exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

We scored the game an impressive 9/10 in our review, saying: “Rise of the Tomb Raider takes everything that was successful in the 2013 reboot, including its stunning graphics and reimagined Lara, and takes it one step further.”
