The Sly Trilogy

Developer: Sony Computer Entertainment

The Sly Cooper series is one of the most underrated gems of the PlayStation 2’s vast catalogue, and is often unfairly overlooked thanks to other Sony big-hitters like Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank. As such, this compendium of Sly’s shadowy adventures is the perfect way to discover a trio of excellent action platformers that you might have missed the first time around. The gameplay combines stealth-like sneaking and general platforming tomfoolery, with a few diverting mini-games to keep things interesting. While all three PS2 Sly outings are worth your time, the second and third entries really do turn things up a notch, and it’s pleasing to see that this often forgotten IP is getting the chance to reach a new audience on the Vita. Creator Sucker Punch has since moved onto bigger things with its inFAMOUS franchise, but hopefully we’ll see the wily racoon step out of the shadows again in the near future.
