E3 2016 Game Previews: Every game we've tried
Below is a quick snippet from all the games we've previewed at E3 2016. We'll keep adding more throughout the show.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole preview – "Trey and Matt at the helm means you know the story and dialogue will be superb. Whether or not the combat can deliver on quite that level remains to be seen, but Ubisoft is certainly making every effort to make it so." – Brett Phipps
Eagle Flight preview – "It isn't a thrilling game to watch, but it’s brilliant to play – and, as noted before, if it were turned into a Star Wars Death Star bomb-run in VR, people would lose there minds... in a good way." – Brett Phipps
Mafia III preview – "The Mafia series has always been a violent one, but based on the new gameplay footage shown behind closed doors at E3, this game takes it to new, perhaps unnecessary levels." – Michael Passingham
Dead Rising 4 preview – "If you like Dead Rising, you’ll love what’s on offer here. You’ll already be familiar with the longstanding flaws of the series. The framerate issue will hopefully be less aggressive than it is in this demo, but with the series having a history of troubles, I’m going to remain sceptical." – Brett Phipps
Forza Horizon 3 preview – "With Horizon, Playground Games delivers the most ridiculous fun you can have on four wheels. Horizon 2 may have leaned a little too heavily on the douchebaggery in its story, but with Australian accents, there will be no such thing here – only amazing racing in a beautiful setting." – Brett Phipps
Call of Duty: Infinite Warefare preview – "It’s CoD with a twist. I hope it's more twist than CoD, because space-based warfare is a chance to really rejuvenate the franchise." – Michael Passingham
Battlefield 1 preview – "Yes it’s violent, yes it is a representation of one of the darkest times in human history, but DICE has turned it into one of the most brutal and enjoyable multiplayer shooters... I may be rubbish at it, but my goodness do I want to play more Battlefield 1." – Brett Phipps
Shadow Warrior 2 preview – "Good lord, so much gore." – Michael Passingham
Tekken 7 preview – "Tekken 7 looks to move the series forward in several ways, introducing some new dynamic stage mechanics and finishing moves for the first time. It also looks gorgeous, and remains as fun to play as ever." – Brett Phipps
Here They Lie preview – "More of a tech demo, this psychological thriller sticks you in sepia-tinted underground subway tunnels, armed with just a torch to guide your way, and in control of a character powerless to stop whatever's out there. In the brief level I got to play, I’m pretty sure a little bit of wee came out." – Brett Phipps
Titantall 2 preview – "While not the visual upgrade I was hoping for, in terms of gameplay this is definitely what I have been waiting for. Titanfall 2 looks like it could very well take everything that was great about the first and add a huge chunk of depth on what was an already fantastic game." – Brett Phipps
FIFA 17 preview – "It’s undeniable that this year, EA is going all out with FIFA. Outsiders often criticise yearly franchises if stagnation. But this definitely isn’t the case with FIFA 17. I just have a nagging feeling that it may be two steps forward, one step back." – Brett Phipps
Rez Infinite – "Overall, I had fun in the level I played, but also felt like I had my fill upon its completion. I’m not sure where the longevity in this experience will be. As a lower-priced, downloadable title, this could be a great early purchase for PSVR, but other than that, I don’t see much here for players to really sink their teeth into outside of the hardcore Rez audience." – Brett Phipps
