Yes, yes I realise I only just finished raving about Epson's latest projector offering and its 50,000:1 contrast ratio, but when JVC launches a pair of models that can manage 30,000:1 without employng the use of a dynamic iris and suffering from he inherent problems I cant help but sit up and take notice.

Two models sporting the JVC-proprietary D-ILA 1080p chips will be on offer, the first is called the DLA-HD100 the second the DLA-RS2. Both models incorporate various image processing engines to help clean up noise and so forth, all pretty standard but definitely required.

A nice addition is that both the D100 and RS2 will have twin HDMI 1.3 ports so both an HD-DVD player and Sky+ box can be connected without needing any switches (or any other two devices for that matter). HDMI 1.3 also means the projectors can take advantage of Deep Colour when content arrives. A examples of a Component, Composite and S-Video ports also make it in, so you can use a Wii on that huge screen as well.

Both projectors will initially launch in the US before making their way over the pond (no change there) costing you "less than $8,000" which is nice and specific.
