Another year, another Gumball 3000 – how testing this job can sometimes be...!

Like last year the stats were impressive: 120 cars, 3,000 miles, eight days, two continents and a plethora of outlandish celebrities (Ashley Cole, Jay Kay, Danny Dyer, Xzibit, and Hayden Christensen headlined, plus Caprice – if she counts?) and even more outlandish paintjobs.

Once again ALK Technologies was our genial hosts and official race sponsor as it readies CoPilot 7 for release (CoPilot 6 went down pretty well) and Pall Mall was the venue.

London's social centre point is again the start for 2007's chaotic, high speed rally which this time sees drivers pass through Amsterdam then drive through the night to the a 'secret airport' in Germany where they are airlifted to Asia. Upon touching down in Istanbul, the Gumballers navigate the set route (with their supplied CoPilot GPS units, naturally) to Athens, Dubrovnik, Bratislava and Berlin (via Prague).

The final stage sees them go from Berlin to London where a music concert and awards ceremony will greet them on 5 May. Sound like fun? You bet, but you'll need £28,000 for the entry fee to join in!

Anyway, enough waffle. Pictures of this crazy real-life Cannonball Run speak louder than (even my) words. So feast your eyes on the snaps below and track the racers progress online at the official site.
