Apparent Samsung Marshmallow update schedule leaks

Samsung Galaxy S6

The race to get Marshmallow out onto devices is on – but when will your Samsung phone get the new software?

While we don’t know anything for sure, a claimed Samsung Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout roadmap has been leaked to the web, courtesy of Times News.

The leak reveals what look to be dates for when specific handsets will get the update to Google’s latest mobile operating system.

Here are the claimed dates:

Those handsets are part of what’s described as the ‘Phase 1’ rollout.

There’s also a ‘Phase 2’ rollout that includes a number of other handsets, although an ETA isn’t listed because the devices are ‘waiting approval’.

The handsets in question are:

  • Samsung Galaxy A8
  • Samsung Galaxy A7
  • Samsung Galaxy A5
  • Samsung Galaxy A3
  • Samsung Galaxy E7
  • Samsung Galaxy E5

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for official word from Samsung before we can say for sure when specific devices will receive an update.

Take any release dates of s/w from Samsung with a pinch of salt. They launched Lollipop 5.1.1 in the UK/europe for sim free a few days after Marshmallow launched officially by google.

My Samsung Galaxy E7, just updated to Lollipop 5.1.1 today, so I know it will be a very long time before the E7 will see the Android M update,

That is why I am going Apple.. My S4 isn't included and it is just over 2 years old. It hasn't gone beyond 5.01 and that took longer than it should have, Samsung is clunky, slow and somewhat moronic in rolling out updates. I will be first in line for the iphone7....

You do realize Lollipop will still be supported for another 2 or 3 years, right? And you can root it and install Marshmallow later on.

You can already install marshmellow for the s4 via a rooted device. You just dont get the Air View, Air Gestures, Smart Stay, etc.

You're implying Samsung is the only android manufacture out there. If you really only care about the updates, why not go for the Nexus line?

Obviously you just wanted a weak excuse to buy Apple. Why brag about it on here?
My G-Note 4 does everything I want it to do with 5.1.1. If I get 6.01 eventually, so be it, but I chose my phone on the features it had when I bought it, never expecting anything more.

Frustrating that Samsung gives no timeline for update or even if there will be one for Galaxy 4s. Waiting until my phone dies and then will switch to Apple.

What about the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4. Only 2 years old and still stuck with 4.4.2 Kit Kat? No 5.0 update. No 5.1 update. No 6.0 Marhsmallow update?

I bought the Tab Pro the day they were released for sale in Feb 2014.

Same phone, same carrier. Lollipop came right away. In fact we were one of the first phones to receive it, Samsung that is. I'll more than likely be going to Nexus once my edge agreement is up. If you hear anything regarding the update with Verizon on our phones, email me won't you?

It is now March 14th, still no Marshmallow. I regret not getting a new Nexus since that is what I had and always had good and fast updates.
