Microsoft has announced the release date for its Xbox Play Anywhere service, launching this September for Xbox One and Windows 10.
First revealed at E3 2016, the new initiative allows you to purchase games once and play them on both Xbox One and Windows 10 at no extra cost.
Microsoft is planning to launch the service on September 13, and has already confirmed a selection of compatible titles:
- Gears of War 4
- Forza Horizon 3
- ReCore
- Sea of Thieves
- Halo Wars 2
- Scalebound
- Killer Instinct Season 3
- State of Decay 2
- Ark: Survival Evolved
- Cuphead
- We Happy Few
- Crackdown 3
From the looks of things Microsoft will be including the majority of its first party lineup under the Play Anywhere banner, including games such as Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2 and Crackdown 3.
The service will require the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on PC and the Xbox One Summer update in order to operate on each platform.
