Samsung named 2014 TrustedReviews Brand of the Year
Samsung has been crowned Brand of the Year at the 2014 TrustedReviews Awards after making waves in multiple sectors.
While the Korean manufacturer has become best known for its flagship phone lines in recent years – including devices such as the Galaxy S5 – the company’s all round efforts in numerous consumer technology and home appliance sectors have seen it pip Google and Apple to the coveted title.
“The TrustedReviews Technology Brand of the Year Award is one of the most closely contested categories,” TrustedReviews Editor Evan Kypreos said. “It only covers those companies that excel in multiple areas of tech, and this year Samsung deservedly won the award.”
Singing the brand’s praises, he added: “Not only has it made some top phones and tablets, it has also produced excellent TVs, sound systems and home appliances.
“Samsung never enters a new sector half-hearted and that’s why it beat the excellent companies it was competing against.
“
Having faced its critics in recent years, Samsung has addressed the designs of its latest smartphone offerings. Both the Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4 have adopted new, metal-edged designs which offer a glimpse at the company’s future direction.
Highlighting Samsung’s across-the-board successes in 2014, the manufacturer has won separate TrustedReviews Awards in the TV, appliance and audio sectors this year.
As well as refining its efforts in existing markets, Samsung has also innovated in 2015. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge offers a glimpse at the future of the mobile space while the Gear VR looks set to bring virtual reality to the masses.
