The creators of Bulletstorm are working on a brand new shooter with Square Enix

People Can Fly, the minds behind Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgement has opened up two new studios for a mystery project.

This upcoming title is developed in partnership with Square Enix, who will act as the publisher on the currently unknown project.

Announced through its website, People Can Fly’s first new studio is located in Rzeszów, Poland and hosts around 30 employees working on the title.

Next up is a similarly sized studio in Newcastle, UK. People Can Fly has said it hopes to grow this location further moving forward.

But what exactly are they working on? Well, according to CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski, it is a “triple-A shooter developed alongside Square Enix” while also acting as a new IP.

“Since People Can Fly became an independent studio again, our ambition has been to build a team of talented and experienced developers that can develop the best triple-A games… our intention is to give both new studios, in Newcastle and in Rzeszów, the opportunity to work on features or part of the game independently from the Warsaw team.”

This is the first we’ve heard of the project and a shooter acting as a part of Square Enix’s portfolio sounds very interesting. People Can Fly are a talented bunch, too.

Perhaps we’ll see it revealed during the Square Enix Presentation at E3 2018 which will likely shine a bigger light on Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and more.
