Securing chart success for developer Level 5 and Publisher Namco Bandai, RPG release Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, which features animation from Studio Ghibli, has claimed top honours in the UK All Format Gaming Chart, pushing last week’s chart topper, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 down to third position.
One of only two new releases to make the UK All Format Gaming Chart top ten for the week ending February 2, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch outperformed IO Interactive’s Hitman: HD Trilogy which could only manage a fifth place finish during its opening week on sale. Despite a five per cent drop in sales, EA Sports’ FIFA 13 has held on to second spot with Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 down one to fourth.
In a week where the long awaited GTA 5 release date was confirmed as September 17 and Sony teased the upcoming PS4 release date announcement, the UK All Format Gaming Chart saw an otherwise largely unchanged top ten with Assassin’s Creed 3 securing sixth position in the sales chart.
With Need for Speed Most Wanted and Just Dance 4 securing spots seven and eight respectively, IO Interactive’s Agent 47 made his second chart appearance in the ninth placed Hitman Absolution, up one place on last week thanks to a 26 per cent jump in sales.
Rounding out the top ten for the week ending February 2, Bethesda’s iconic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim held on to tenth place despite a 6 per cent decrease in week-on-week sales.
