The original Psychonauts is coming to PS4
Sony has announced that Double Fine’s cult classic Psychonauts is coming to PS4 in 2016.
Did you play Psychonauts back when it came out in 2005? If not, it’s pretty great, and soon you’ll be able to play it on PS4.
Sony announced earlier this week that the classic platformer will be coming to PS4 as a PS2 classic in Spring 2016.
Additional details on the release are yet to be provided, but we can expect Psychonauts to receive the same treatment as other PS2 games on the system.

These upgrades include visual enhancements, trophy support and cloud saves. It isn’t clear whether Psychonauts will implement these, but it’s pretty likely.
Sony is committed to releasing PS2 classics for the PS4 “on a regular basis.”
At the moment, there are currently ten games available, these include Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Rogue Galaxy and PaRappa The Rapper 2.
Sony has received criticism for its pricing model of PS2 classics, which require you to purchase games you may already own.

Psychonauts 2, a crowdfunded sequel for the original game, recently hit its funding goal, and is now in development at Double Fine.
The project raised a total of $3.3 million, and is planned as a direct sequel to the first Psychonauts.
Psychonauts is an under-appreciated platforming classic, and it’s definitely worth a try. It’s easy available on Steam, if you don’t fancy waiting for the PS4 release.
