The Samsung Galaxy S5 specs sheet will be bolstered by a new 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation features, latest reports have suggested.
Building on the 13-megapixel snapper found in the existing Samsung Galaxy S4 handset, reports out of Samsung’s native Korean have claimed that the market-leading manufacturer is already working on a new 16-megapixel camera for its future smartphone offering.
Set to miss the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the third-generation ‘phablet’ device expected to be formally unveiled at IFA 2013 next week, Samsung’s new 16-megapixel smartphone camera sensor is said to benefit from optical image stabilisation feature to help further improve image quality. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is tipped to host the same 13-megapixel camera as the S4.
The spin-off Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom already plays host to a 16-megapixel sensor although the camera centric smartphone adds a 10x optical zoom, a feature not expected to be included on the S5.
Although far from confirmed, the latest reports would fit with the tradition improvements to flagship smartphone lines, with the Samsung Galaxy S5 expected to host a speedier CPU, improved screen quality and better camera than its predecessor.
With little currently known about the Samsung Galaxy S5, a handset expected to touch down in Q2 2014, further Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have hinted that the iPhone 5S and HTC One rival will sport an all new, premium metal construction.
One of the few major complaints about the S4, Samsung looks set to trade in the plastic build of its current flagship phone in favour of either a brushed metal or carbon fibre construction with the next addition to is ‘S’ range.
