A new Samsung Galaxy S4 update has been rolled out, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean finally brought to UK based iterations of the handset.

Having begun a global rollout last month, the Android 4.3 Samsung Galaxy S4 update was first introduced to German based handset owners. Having now been introduced across a further range of territories, the latest Samsung Galaxy S4 update is now available to UK based owners.

Introducing a number of small enhancements to the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Android 4.3 update sees Samsung Galaxy Gear support expanded beyond the ‘phablet’ sized Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for the first time.

Available as an over-the-air downloadable patch, the free Samsung Galaxy S4 update can be accessed through the phone’s settings menus. Currently available only for unlocked versions of the HTC One rival, network locked S4s will not receive the Android 4.3 update for some time yet, with each provider needing to carry out its own testing first.

To download and install the firmware over-the-air, go to Settings > More > About Device > Software update > Update.

As well as offering support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear, the Korean manufacturer’s latest wearable companion device which offers call and messaging notifications direct to your wrist, the Samsung Galaxy S4 update offers system improvements through a refreshed RAM management system and revised TouchWiz launcher.

Although UK based Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets can now be updated to Android 4.3, the patch still leaves the flagship phone lagging behind the newly introduced Google Nexus 5, a phone which has become the first to run the new Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

how much will the update improve the RAM management. when i start up the phone (so no programs are running) i clean up the memory it is still pretty much used up about 800MB and it gets to 1GB in like 5 minutes and stays there even if i clean it again. can i expect it to be around 700MB every time that i would clean up the memory with 4.3 update.?

Clearing the browser history can now be done from the Settings option within the browser. Click on Privacy and then Delete personal data, you should then have an option to clear browsing history along with all other internet related data.

Since updating I've noticed my S4 freeze often. The keyboard entries lagg, it's full of bloatware. Please allow the owner/user to decide what is needed after a download. S Health, wtf! I'm seriously thinking of rooting...

I appear to have to use a querty keyboard now which I HATE!!! There does not appear to be an option to revert to the alpha/numerical key board. They need to sort this or I will change my phone!!!!!
