Leaked Nexus 6 specs point to 5.9-inch QHD handset
Newly leaked Nexus 6 specs have surfaced, with Google’s next flagship phone expected to run a 5.9-inch QHD display alongside a 13-megapixel OIS camera.
With the Nexus 6 having been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours in recent weeks and months, newly surfaced details have offered a broader picture of exactly what the phone will offer.
Having done the rounds under the codename ‘Shamu’, it has long been believed that the Nexus 6 will be a bit of a beast. Now, citing unnamed sources, AndroidPolice has ‘confirmed’ the Nexus 6 will be bestowed with a 5.9-inch QHD panel.
This display, which will rival the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in terms of clarity, will reportedly offer a 2560 x 1440p resolution and 496 pixels-per-inch image density.
Keeping this massive, power-hungry display going, the Nexus 6 is said to pack a 3200mAh battery. With the phone expected to be manufactured by Motorola, the company’s ‘turbo charger’ capabilities are also tipped for inclusion. This should offer hours of usage after just 15 minutes of charge.
Set to be the first phone to come running Google’s upcoming Android L operating system, the Nexus 6 should feature an array of new app icons and software services.
On a camera front, a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera is being tipped to line up with optical image stabilisation. Around front, a 2-megapixel snapper is expected.
Although these latest reports back up a number of previous Nexus 6 leaks, we must stress that as Google has yet to offer any formal indication on the device, they should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Google is expected to unveil new Nexus devices next month alongside the Android L release. With October 16 being tipped for a Nexus 9 unveiling, the Nexus 6 could enter the realms of reality on the same day.
