iWatch concept design hint at upcoming Apple wrist wear

Ahead of the heavily rumoured Apple Watch release date, new iWatch concept designs have hit the web, offering an insight into the futuristic wrist-worn gadget.

Although far from official, the latest Apple iWatch concept designs have offered a hint at how the Cupertino-based company’s first wearable gadget might look, building on a flurry of recent Apple iWatch rumours to offer a visual representation of the reportedly upcoming device.

Designed by Esben Oxholm at Yanko Design, the new Apple iWatch concepts have built on a number of Apple’s design principles with a black brushed aluminium strap playing host to the device’s heavily rumoured curved glass display.

With a home button, similar to that found on the iPhone 5, iPad mini and latest generation iPod nano sitting underneath the touchscreen sensitive display, the new iWatch mock-ups also feature a large Apple logo engraved on the watch’s inside strap. The techy timepiece fits together with a clasp that hides a size altering section addition.

Making the device as comfortable as it is stylish, designer Oxholm has suggested that the Apple iWatch could feature a “soft matte rubber” finish on the inside.

Apple iWatch Rumours

With Apple yet to offer any official word on the mooted Apple iWatch, latest Apple iWatch rumours have claimed that a 100 strong team is working on the technologically advanced wrist wear with the iWatch to be the first in a new range of wearable technology from the iPod maker.

Citing “two people familiar with the company’s plans,” latest Apple iWatch rumours have suggested the programme is near completion, with the sizable team made up of “managers, members of the marketing group, and software and hardware engineers who previously worked on the iPhone and iPad.”

Offering instant access to messaging and alert details, it has been claimed that the Apple iWatch would wirelessly sync with user’s iPhone handsets, offering details on incoming calls.
