The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just got a big upgrade on Xbox One X

CD Projekt Red has released a new downloadable update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that adds support for Xbox One X.
Since launching in November 2017, Microsoft’s 4K console has seen a number of games add support via patching, and this might be the most exciting one yet.
Wild Hunt’s 4K mode is available in two different variants: Performance and 4K. Performance unlocks the frame-rate and targets 60fps while dynamically scaling the resolution between 1080p and 4K.
4K Mode, on other hand, locks performance at 30fps while rendering the experience at a 4K resolution. Both modes support HDR, a feature that will be coming to PS4 Pro in the near future.

The Witcher 3 is absolutely gorgeous without all the extra 4K bells and whistles, so we’re excited to see how it fares on Microsoft’s console.
If you’re after a sprawling RPG with two massive expansions, The Witcher 3 is arguably the best experience out there. It even earned our Game of the Year accolade back in 2015.
‘Wild Hunt is the new RPG by which all other RPGs should be judged. Not only has CD Projekt Red delivered the largest and most convincing fantasy open-world we’ve ever seen, but a storyline, quests and systems that make it an incredibly compelling place to run, ride and sail around in.’
