TVs of the Year 2017: LG and Samsung take home top honours
LG and Samsung have taken the top prizes for TVs at the Trusted Reviews Awards 2017.
First up, the overall TV award goes to the LG B7 OLED.
OLED TV tech has been on the rise in recent years, and LG has been responsible for spearheading its development. Competition was fierce in 2017 with the Sony A1 OLED and the Panasonic EZ952 both proving hard to beat, but in the end it was LG that managed to best balance price with performance.
In our review, we praised its picture, which had improved brightness on top of last year’s top-tier performance. We also loved its excellent smart TV interface, gamer-friendly responsiveness and future-friendly support for several HDR formats – along with the lowest price tag available for a 2017 OLED. If you’re after a premium TV experience, the LG B7 is a bargain.

But LG isn’t the only winner. Our award for Best Value TV goes to the Samsung MU7000. Samsung has been aggressively pursuing the upper-midrange market. The MU7000 is one of the best you can buy for under £1000, offering 4K and HDR levels that meet the UHD Premium industry standard.

TVs are getting better than ever, but Samsung has proved that you don’t need to spend a fortune for home video excellence.
