This iPhone 7 leak makes things a lot more interesting

Reports earlier this year suggested Apple was preparing to add a new 256GB storage option with the iPhone 7, and now it seems we could see another major storage change.
The oft-decried 16GB entry-level option could become a thing of the past according to a new leak on Chinese social media, via The Express.
According to the WeChat post, the iPhone 7 will come in either 32GB, 128GB, or 256GB options, as opposed to the current 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB internal storage tiers.
What’s more, the price will apparently remain the same despite the increased memory – good news for frustrated iPhone fans whose current 16GB handsets reached their storage limits in a matter of days.

Rumours of the new storage tiers are seemingly backed up by developments on Chinese shopping site Weibo, which posted prices for three iPhone 7 models starting with a 32GB handset, as reported by CNET.
The 16GB model iPhone has long-been criticised as having far too little internal storage, especially as iPhones don’t allow users to increase the internal memory using MicroSD cards.
Recent rumours and reports have suggested Apple will break its usual two-year cycle of major iPhone updates this year, introducing only small improvements with the upcoming iPhone 7, ahead of a bigger overhaul with next year’s iPhone 8.

The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, although stellar handsets, did little to impress consumers, coming as they did with no major features to make them standout over the previous year’s iPhone 6.
But if Apple finally does away with its meagre 16GB offering, fans of the brand could finally have a good reason to upgrade.
The company is also expected to remove the headphone jack with the iPhone 7, as well as introduce a new black colour option.
