Onimusha Warlords Remastered announced for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch

Capcom has announced Onimusha Warlords Remastered which is set to launch for all major platforms in 2019.
Announced with a release date of January 15, 2019, this puts the surprise remaster just a week or so ahead of Resident Evil 2 Remake.
First released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, Onimusha Warlords was followed by a series of classic entries before vanishing into obscurity with recent generations.
Set in Feudal Japan, you play as Samanosuke Akechi as he fights against hordes of demons on a quest to rescue Princess Yuki from Inabayama Castle.

Capcom has announced that the upcoming remaster will launch with an assortment of new features unique to this release.
This will include high-definition graphics and improved textures which will extend to characters, enemies, environments and more. Here’s hoping for 4K support, too.
You’ll also be able to select between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, the latter aiming to recreate the original game’s experience on older displays.

You can look forward to English and Japanese voice options and an Easy Mode which wasn’t available in the PS2 version.
Here’s hoping that Capcom has further plans for Onimusha beyond a remaster of Warlords, as we’d love to see the franchise make a return on modern platforms.
