Nintendo reveals Miitomo release window and new photo sharing feature
Nintendo’s debut mobile title, Miitomo, will be coming in March 2016 to iOS and Android devices.
Miitomo will be available as a free download in March, Nintendo announced in a shareholder meeting this week.
This release window applies to the UK, North America and Europe. Nintendo plans to release the app in Japan in March too, which is a little surprising.
Nintendo also revealed a new photo sharing feature known as Miifoto, that will launch alongside Miitomo.
Miifoto will allow you to share images from Miitomo to a variety of social networks. We assume this will be build into the game itself, like most mobile games.

You can begin registering for Miitomo on February 17, where you can attach your Nintendo Network ID, social network and email accounts to the upcoming game.
Those who register early will receive updates on Miitomo and a unique bonuses. Such bonuses will be available in My Nintendo, the new replacement for the Club Nintendo programme.
Miitomo was first revealed in October 2015, and will be Nintendo’s first foray into the world of mobile games.
Nintendo plans to launch five mobile games before 2017, an ambitious goal for a company so new to the platform.

In a recent press release, Nintendo described Miitomo as “social experience that uses Nintendo’s Mii characters to engage friends in a lighthearted, playful and welcoming social setting.”
“Using Mii characters users will be able to interact with their friends in an entirely new way to spark fun and interesting conversations such as ‘what song has been stuck in your head lately?’, ‘do you believe in aliens?’, or even ‘if you saw a nose hair sticking out of your friend’s nose, what would you do?’”
“By answering questions in Miitomo users will be able to discover surprising information and secrets about their friends, as well as share their experiences with others easily by taking and sharing photos featuring their Mii using the Miifoto feature.”

Miitomo strikes us as a free version of Tomodachi Life, albeit with less content and microtransactions.
The in-app purchases will be mostly cosmetic. You can dress up your Mii in new outfits and decorate his/her personal space over time.
It kinda sounds like RuPaul’s Mii Race. Actually, that sounds amazing, Nintendo should get on that.
