The Walking Dead’s most iconic villain is coming to Tekken 7

The Walking Dead’s Negan, renown for his barbed wire baseball bat and love of murder is making his way to Tekken 7 as a playable character.

Bandai Namco confirmed the renowned villain’s appearance in the beloved fighting series at EVO 2018 during the Tekken 7 Season 2 reveal trailer.

This isn’t the first crossover character to debut in Tekken 7, although it’s definitely the most unexpected. The previous season saw Final Fantasy 15’s Noctis join the ranks.

Aside from the character’s brief confirmation, few details were revealed regarding Negan in Tekken 7, although it appears to be based on the AMC television show’s depiction.

Aside from the psychopathic Negan, Tekken 7’s second season will include Anna Williams and Lei Wulong, two returning characters fans have been waiting for.

First launching in June 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC after two years in Japanese arcades, Tekken 7 has proven itself as a very enjoyable fighter, with Andi Hamilton describing it as the series’ best since Tekken 7 in his review:

‘However, for those hardcore players there’s plenty to enjoy from the deep, rewarding and varied roster of characters, fully featured and seemingly lag-free online modes, as well as the refinements to the core combat that make Tekken 7 the best since Tekken 3.’
