LG G3 Android 5.0 update rollout continues
LG has announced plans to bring the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to further LG G3 handsets this week.
With the flagship phone having already been handed an Android 5.0 update in Poland of all places, the Korean manufacturer has announced that G3 owners in its native land will be given the Lollipop patch in the coming days.
Continuing the slow drip of Android 5.0 updates, the Korean G3 patch will be introduced to devices on all three of the country’s leading networks on the same day.
Although LG is one of the first manufacturers to push the Lollipop update to its flagship phone line – following Google’s past Nexus-branded handsets – there is currently no word on when UK-based G3 users will be able to make the jump to Google’s latest mobile OS.
Despite the lack of a precise date, the Samsung and Apple rival recently revealed the patch would be made available to the masses before the end of the year.
“
According to the manufacturer, its past relationship with Google – LG manufactured both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 – has helped it push its G3 Lollipop update out quicker than its rivals.
“Because we have a good relationship with Google – and bearing in mind we have two previous devices with them – naturally we would get the ASOP a little earlier than most,” LG’s product marketing manager Shaun Musgrave told TrustedReviews recently.
We have contacted LG for word on when the UK G3 update will be available. Stay tuned to TrustedReviews for all the latest.
