iPhone 7 completely sold out in some models, says Apple

Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 7 Plus and the ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7 have both completely sold out.
In a statement released today, Apple revealed that the entire stockpile of certain iPhone models had been bought up entirely during the pre-order period. The phones affected include the ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 Plus in all colour options. The bad news is that these phones will no longer be available to buy at Apple retail stores on September 16.
Here’s Apple’s statement in full:
“
Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, and Black will be available for walk-in customers at apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in Jet Black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them.
Customers can continue to order all models in all colours on Apple.com. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience as we work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible.”

Apple’s ‘Jet Black’ is the only glossy colour option available on new iPhones
On the UK Apple online store, delivery times for the ‘Jet Black’ iPhone 7 are listed as “3-5 weeks” in both 128GB and 256GB storage options. You can get the iPhone 7 Plus in ‘Black’ in “2-3 weeks”, but shipping for the ‘Jet Black’ version is delayed until November.
Apple announced the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at a launch event on September 7. The latter features a new dual-camera arrangement, which is likely to have boosted its popularity significantly. Apple also introduced a new ‘Jet Black’ colour option, which is the only glossy option available right now – the other four are all matte.
