iPhone 5S pictured on Chinese production line?
Although still far from official, a selection of claimed iPhone 5S pictures have hit the web, seemingly showing Apple’s next-generation handset on the production line in China.
Hinting at a potentially imminent unveiling, the mooted iPhone 5S pictures show the front panel of a device remarkably similar to that of the current iPhone 5, suggesting Apple’s seventh addition to the iPhone line will feature only minor updates over its predecessor.
Hitting the web courtesy of Chinese news outlet SJBBS, the collection of 14 claimed iPhone 5S pictures show the handset in various stages of construction, with the only discernible difference being a change in the handset’s vibration enabling motor, hardly the headline NFC, improved camera or larger screen hoped for by many.
Whilst it has been widely reported that Apple will unveil an incremental iPhone 5S release ahead of the eagerly awaited iPhone 6 arrival, the latest leaked images, which coincide with these reports, should be taken with a hearty pinch of salt given their less than official route.
iPhone 5S Rumours
Said to be a device that will play host to a selection of hardware features Apple wished to incorporate with the iPhone 5 but could not implement in time, iPhone 5S rumours have been rife ever since the current Apple blower entered the realms of reality back in September.
With the iPhone 5S release date having been tipped as everything from Apple’s annual September release to a surprise Q1 arrival, reports prior to Christmas suggested that “facing low yield rates in the production of the iPhone 5, Apple has accelerated the certification processes for related parts and components for the iPhone 5S.”
Whilst the iPhone 6 is expected to see Apple once again add inches to its smartphone line and make a jump in screen size, latest iPhone 5S rumours have claimed the next-gen device will play host to the same 4-inch display introduced by the iPhone 5.
Far from a carbon copy, it is believed that unlike the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5S will feature a new “super HD camera, a better battery, and NFC.” What’s more, building on the black and white models of Apple’s existing smartphone and tablet lines, the iPhone 5S has been tipped to land in “6-8 colours” much like the 2012 iPod touch.
