iPhone 5S images show A7 processor inclusion
Ahead of the iPhone 5S release date, leaked images have claimed to show the handset’s motherboard with the Apple iPhone 5S specs sheet reportedly set to see a new quad-core A7 processor make the cut.
The latest in a recent flurry of iPhone 5S rumours, the newly leaked iPhone 5S images have shown off what is claimed to be the upcoming handset’s internal workings with the current Apple A6X CPU reportedly set to make way for a quad-core A7 offering.
Seemingly set to bring the next-gen iPhone in line with the recent fleet of Android powerhouses, a contingent soon set to be further bolstered by the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S4, the snapped motherboard has suggested that the eagerly awaited iPhone 5S will maintain the same 4-inch form factor of the current iPhone 5. Recent reports have suggested that for the iPhone 6, Apple will make the jump to a new 4.8-inch form factor.
Offering further insight into the upcoming handset, latest reports have claimed that alongside the A7 quad-core processor, reportedly clocked at 1.2GHz, the iPhone 5S will play host to the upcoming iOS 7 operating system which will reportedly introduce a selection of new Siri features alongside further improvements.
Tipped to be Apple’s first quad-core smartphone, the iPhone 5S is said to feature the same PowerVR quad-core SGX554MP4 graphics found within the existing iPad 4.
iPhone 5S Rumours
Although Apple has yet to shed any official light on the iPhone 5 follow-on, recent iPhone 5S rumours have tipped the device as touching down with a selection of hardware and software improvements, set to bring the fight to leading Android smartphones.
Although the iPhone 5S is widely expected to maintain the same form factor as the current iPhone 5, it has been suggested that the device will touch down in ‘6-8 colours’, akin to the most recent iPod touch offering.
With an iPhone 5S release date tipped for 2013, conflicting reports have suggested that the handset will land in either September or as early as March. If the iPhone 5S does touch down next month, shifting the device to a six month product cycle, it is expected that a dramatically overhauled iPhone 6 will hit later in the year.
