Bang & Olufsen Beoplay E8 wireless earbuds are pretty and crammed with tech
Bang & Olufsen is the latest manufacturer to join the wireless earbud market. In keeping with B&O tradition, it has done so with a lot of style.
Launched at IFA 2017, the Beoplay E8 use premium materials. The buds themselves have aluminium accents, while the charging case uses leather and fabric. They’re also small and designed to sit inconspicuously in the ear, as opposed to dangling out like the Apple Airpods.
Don’t let the use of nicer materials fool you into thinking these buds are delicate – these buds are splash and dust resistant.
They’re also the most feature-packed wireless earbuds on the scene. On-board controls aren’t unique, but the Beoplay E8s use touch controls for controlling music and taking calls.
There is also a Transparency mode, which allows audio passthrough so you’re not entirely disconnected from the outside world. The Beoplay app lets you choose from three levels of transparency. Software also lets you adjust tonal balance and soundstaging, or choose from EQ presets.
B&O Play says the E8s will get through four hours of playback on one charge, and the case has the capacity to provide two more charges.
