Samsung at IFA 2017: All the news and highlights

This year, the company has already revealed the Galaxy Note 8 – so that’s just a stand-filler at IFA.

The two biggest devices Samsung has used the show to announce are the Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro, plus an updated pair of Icon X wireless earbuds. The Gear Sport is a smaller, sportier version of the Gear S3 and the Fit 2 Pro adds in a dedicated swimming mode.

Sony at IFA 2017: All the news and highlights

This year, Sony announced a number of handsets – as expected – including the Sony Xperia XZ1, which features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and a 19-megapixel camera on the back. Not bad.

There’s also a cheaper version of the same device called the Xperia XZ1 Compact, which has 720p display and the same camera – although the front camera drops from 13-megapixels to 8-megapixels.

The final new phone is the Xperia XA1 Plus, which is a large 5.5-inch smartphone with an edge-to-edge display.

As well as phones, we also got a selection of new headphones and a Google Assistant-powered smart speaker called the Sony LF-S50G – catchy, eh?

LG at IFA 2017: All the news and highlights

LG’s biggest announcement of the show is the LG V30, a new high-end phone that boasts an exciting camera array and loads of features aimed at audiophiles. Check out our full LG V30 review for more, but the highlights of this phone include a large 6-inch HDR OLED display with minimal bezel and an f/1.6 16-megapixel rear camera.

There’s a secondary wide-angle camera too, plus a powerful quad-DAC that sounds great with the included B&O earbuds. Expect to see the V30 hit shelves later in the year, but we’re not sure on price just yet.

And then there’s this…
