Baldur’s Gate 3 is getting a gameplay reveal at PAX East
It’s been 20 years since Baldur’s Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, but the wait for Baldur’s Gate 3 is getting shorter all the time. Now, the developers at Larian Studios have announced that gameplay will be revealed at PAX East.
In a new video, the studio revealed that gamers don’t have long to wait until a full gameplay reveal. PAX East kicks off on February 27 and goes on until March 1.
Larian is promising the gameplay reveal on day one of the event, at 8.00pm GMT/3.00pm ET. This is half an hour earlier than the time stated in the video, so don’t be late! The studio bagged some more time to show off the game, claiming it has so much to show gamers it needed the extra time. Excited?
“We’ve been very busy, but today we’re ready to lift the tip of the veil,” said Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios. “We are on an adventure to make the best RPG we’ve ever made and that has required us to re-invent all of our tools, our technology, our processes, but above all grow our team. Join us as we return to Baldur’s Gate for the first time in 20 years, live from PAX East.”

Larian has a good track record in RPGs, most notably they made Divinity: Original Sin 2, so the early signs are good.
When we got our hands on the console port of Divinity: Original Sin 2, back in 2018, we were impressed. We gave the game a four-star rating and our reviewer said:
“Overlook the little niggles and Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the best RPG to make it to consoles since The Witcher 3. It’s vast, engaging and surprising. The willingness to accommodate many different types of play may have its drawbacks, but once you’ve understood the systems and given thought to what kind of hero you want to be, you can sink literally hundreds of hours into your life on Rivellon.”
