PlayStation VR's cinematic mode even works with your Xbox One

PlayStation Vr

PlayStation VR can accept any valid HDMI input, meaning you can use Sony’s headset to play about on Xbox One.

Granted, you won’t be having the full virtual reality experience, but you can browse and launch games and apps from the console dashboard without any issues.

Whenever PlayStation VR is connected to a standard HDMI input it will launch in ‘cinema mode.’

This mode displays content on a lower resolution 2D screen inside the headset, whether or not it happens to be on PS4.

So, if you fancy playing your Xbox One or Wii U at a lower resolution inside your fancy new VR device, there is definitely a way to make that happen.

According to Ars Technica there "was no discernible display latency or lag that affected non-PlayStation gameplay,” meaning you won’t experience any problems with different platforms.

PlayStation VR’s headphone jack also handles “external sources” just fine, so you won’t need to change your headphones either.
