iPhone 6 to feature curved display?

The iPhone 6 could feature a curved display within a rounded edge body if the latest report is to be believed.

According to a new report from Japan citing “reliable information”, the iPhone 6 will feature a curved display housed within a body with new rounded edges a bit more pronounced than that on the iPhone 5C.

The device would apparently feature an all-aluminium design though, rather than retaining the glass antenna breaks found at the rear of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5.

If you’re thinking the iPhone 6 could resemble the LG G Flex for example, that’s a little too curved for this rumour. It looks like the edges of the screen could be curved at the edge to meet the edge of the phone’s body, but that sounds a little bizarre to us.

Earlier this week a video of a purported iPhone 6 case was released and suggested that the iPhone 6 will be a slimline device with a 4.7-inch screen. There was no indication of a curved display being a feature.

There have been earlier rumours that the iPhone 6 could feature a curved display, but there have been more recent rumours suggesting Apple has abandoned the idea.

We sincerely doubt that Apple will use a curved display in the iPhone 6, instead focusing on improving screen quality with quantum dot technology and enlarging the screen size from the existing 4-inch iPhone 5S.

Apparently Apple is also looking to introduce a 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6 later in the year, although rumours suggest Apple is struggling to find a battery that is powerful enough, but thin enough to fit within the slim profile of the larger screen iPhone 6.

Apple is expected to tweak the design of the iPhone 6 a little, including relocating the power button to the right hand side of the device to make it easier to access with the larger display.

We doubt Apple would introduce a major redesign of the iPhone 6, based on the information that has emerged so far.
