While set to retain the 9.7-inch Retina display found on the iPad 4, the heavily rumoured iPad 5 will reportedly be thinner and narrower than its predecessor, with a heavily reduced bezel helping cut down the tablet’s size and make it a much more manageable tool for work or play.
Although a fully working iPad 5 remains a mysterious being, the iPad 5 video leak claims to show both the tablet’s new, slimmer and flatter brushed metal rear and revised front panel with a much smaller bezel.
“It is more narrow and it looks a lot more like the iPad mini but you are getting the exact same screen size,” the iPad 5 video leak has claimed while comparing the upcoming tablet components with those of existing and past generations. The video shows that while the iPad 4 is 18.5cm wide, the upcoming iPad 5 will measure in at just 17cm wide.
Showing off a few more alterations, the video has suggested that the iPad 5 will feature new, individual volume buttons instead of the current single button rocker. The iPad 5 looks set to be styled on the iPad mini with rounded corners and a flat back seeing improved speakers moved to the base of the device.
Although Apple yesterday confirmed that it will host its iPhone launch event next week, a launch expected to see both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C make it to the realms of reality, it is not believed that the iPad 5, or indeed the iPad mini 2 will be unveiled until later in the year.
