HTC is planning something big, or rather ‘BIG’, but it’s not yet clear exactly what the Taiwanese company is cooking up.
Tweeting earlier today, Jason Mackenzie, HTC America’s President, said: "HTC has a BIG announcement for US customers on Wednesday.”
He then followed up with a second tweet that read: “Wednesday, March 18th. Be ready! Big surprise about the HTC One M9 in the US. You’re going to love it! Never been easier to choose HTC One.”
Extensive leaks have pointed towards a One M9 variant carrying a screen at least 5.2-inches from corner to corner.
Improved specs are also expected to ship with the device, namely an improved 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution display and 64GB storage as standard.

Of course, the fact that Mackenzie mentioned US customers specifically could also hint at an entirely different scenario – a HTC One M9 Windows edition.
It wouldn’t be unprecedented; last year saw HTC release a Windows Phone version of its One M8 handset exclusively for Verizon customers.
The device was almost identical, save for Windows branding and a switched-out operating system.
HTC unveiled its One M9 handset on March 1, revealing the release date would be set for March 31, ahead of rival Samsung’s Galaxy S6 smartphone.
We’ll update you with whatever HTC decides to show off on Wednesday.
