Apple just announced that it’s sold over 225 million iPads worldwide since its launch four years ago.
Tim Cook revealed the incredible figure at a keynote event today over in Cupertino, California.
“As you look around now, iPad is everywhere. It is transforming the way we work, the way we learn, the way we play, the way we communicate,” says Cook.
Apple also revealed that there’s now around 675,000 apps built for the iPad on the App Store.
The firm’s CEO talked up the device, boasting, “It’s number one in usage, number one in education, number one in enterprise, number one in consumer.”
Cook was also keen to point out the extremely high satisfaction ratings for the firm’s iPad range.
“iPad Mini Retina has scored an unbelievable 100% customer satisfaction. You just don’t see these numbers in customer satisfaction,” Cook told event-goers.
“We think it comes back to this unique blend of simplicity and capability and the fact that you can do so many things on iPad and you have such a great time doing it.”
Cook said the fact that iPad was consistently rated number one in customer satisfaction made their “hearts sing”.
Apple used the event to announce a brand-new iPad Air 2, a successor to last year’s iPad Air.
