This Grand Theft Auto 6 leak could be first proof of game’s existence
Rockstar may already be working on the next Grand Theft Auto game, if a new leak circulating online is to be believed. Cue GTA 6 rumour frenzy…
The last Grand Theft Auto game – GTA V – was released way back in 2013, so there’s no shortage of hype for a sequel. Fortunately, we may have procured the first titbit of evidence suggesting that such a successor actually exists – all thanks to an eagle-eyed Neogaf user.
An actor by the name of Tim Neff has listed work for “Grand Theft Auto 6” on his resume, citing Rockstar as the employer. The work is listed under “Motion Capture”, but there aren’t any details as to what the alleged employment actually involved. However, he’s also listed as having worked on Red Dead Redemption 2, another upcoming Rockstar game.

It’s also worth noting that Neff posted about a visit to Rockstar’s San Diego office on February 22, 2017 to his Instagram profile. Given that the hashtags on the post include #videogame, #mocap, #actor, and #stunt, it seems fairly clear why he was there.
Here’s the post in question:
Rockstar hasn’t made any official noise about Grand Theft Auto 6, so this really is the first proper clue that a new entry to the series may be in development.
However, it’s important that we don’t read too much into this apparent leak. After all, it’s entirely possible that Neff may have worked on another Rockstar project and mistakenly put GTA 6 on his resume. We won’t have proper confirmation of the game’s existence until Rockstar makes a real announcement.
That said, we’re about due for a new Grand Theft Auto game. Grand Theft Auto IV launched way back in 2008, and was followed by Grand Theft Auto V just five years later. Another five years down the line and we’re looking at a possible 2018 launch for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Given the critical acclaim and huge financial success experienced by Grand Theft Auto V, it’s almost certain that a sequel is on the table at Rockstar HQ. The only question is when will it arrive?
