Yeehaw! PS4 owners are closer than ever to a Red Ded Redemption re-release

PlayStation 4 owners could be one step closer to being able to play Red Dead Redemption.
Rockstar Games has released Red Dead Revolver, the progenitor to Red Dead Redemption on PS4. The game – first released in 2004 – is the latest in a batch of PS2 games to make the jump to the PS4. More importantly, though, the re-release offers fresh hope for fans who are desperate to play Red Dead Redemption on PS4.

Red Dead Redemption is yet to be released on PS4, despite launching way back in 2008. Made by Rockstar Games – the studio behind GTA – it mixes great gameplay with dark humour, and quickly filled a hole in the Western gaming genre, becoming a firm favourite with fans.
While it isn’t Red Dead Redemption, fans of Red Dead Revolver will be chuffed. The re-release brings a host of new benefits, including 1080p upscaling, trophy support and remote play. Plus, if you still have your PS Vita (remember those?) you can download game manuals.

Although Red Dead Redemption has been available on Xbox One S since the summer, it’s yet to make the jump to PlayStation 4. Fingers crossed, then, that the release of Red Dead Revolver heralds a new dawn of upscaled gun-slinging. With rumours of a possible Red Dead sequel, anything could happen. Watch this space.
