Vodafone tackles Moto E 2 with cheap, 4G Smart ultra 6

Vodafone has launched the Smart ultra 6, a 4G smartphone built for consumers on a tight budget.
It features solid specs, including a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 16GB of inbuilt storage and an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor.
However, it’s been treated to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and the 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing sensor should keep Instagram-addicts happy.
The mobile operator also says the ultra’s 3,000mAh battery should be able to keep going for up to two days between charges.
“This is the most premium 4G device we’ve launched and one that I think customers will be very excited about due to its strong feature set, competitive price point and great design,” said Dee Kaul, the director of Terminals for Vodafone UK and Ireland.
The company is banking on the inclusion of 4G being a big attraction, but it’ll face some fierce competition from the £109 Motorola Moto E 2 (2015), which is also 4G-enabled.
The ultra 6 is available immediately, for £125 on PAYG and for free if you opt for a Vodafone pay monthly contract starting at £17 per month.

However, Vodafone’s only released it in the Anthracite colour scheme at present, with a silver version hitting the shelves in July.
