Samsung teases the Gear S3 watch everyone expects anyway

Samsung will almost certainly launch at least one new version of its Gear smartwatch at IFA 2016, a presumption boosted by the company’s latest teaser.

Ahead of its press conference on September 1, Samsung posted an image with clock hands displaying the 11am start for the event.

That’s not so much a clue, but more of a guarantee a new model is on the way.

Gear 3

It has been a year since Samsung launched the Gear S2, with the round-faced Tizen-based watch its best effort so far.

This year it is thought Samsung could release up to three variants of the watch, each packing the heralded rotating bezel controlling the UI.

The Classic version may be supplemented by Frontier and Explorer editions, although little is known about the significance of those monikers at this time.

Our speculation would suggest both of which will be designed for those with an active lifestyle.

How about some clues on that front, Samsung?
