Samsung plans Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie handset upgrades

Prior to Google unveiling its latest OS platform, codenamed Android Key Lime Pie, Samsung has apparently already decided which of its devices will be receiving the Android 5.0 upgrade.

According to a SamMobile insider, the Korean Company has already drawn up the first pre-list detailing which handsets will be upgraded to Android 5.0.

If the list is correct, Samsung will only bring the latest iteration of the confectionery based Google OS to 5 devices, which include the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4.

Other devices lucky enough to receive the OS upgrade will be the Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

The list is as yet not officially confirmed by Samsung, but was approved by the SamMobile insider, who also said the list is subject to changes.

Unfortunately the list also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy S2, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini and other handsets will only be upgraded as far as the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS, rather than the newest version.

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie Features
The latest Google operating system, Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, looks set to be unveiled at the Google I/O in May. The search engine giant has a history of announcing a new Android OS at each of its annual developer conferences, with the OS released to devices a few months after that.

As of yet, not much is known about the next-generation Google OS, except for its codename Key Lime Pie, which was tipped by a Google employee’s doodle posted on Google .

In February, chip manufacturer Qualcomm released a roadmap that suggested Android Key Lime Pie could ship on two new Snapdragon devices, including a new Google Nexus handset.
