The integration with Oculus will give developers access to the Facebook-owned VR firm’s mobile toolkit, meaning there’s a great opportunity for new, engaging VR content.
It’ll also have access to Oculus Cinema, which is a VR movie theatre and cinema which’ll provide immersive video experiences. There’s also a Oculus 360 Videos and Photos portal for wearers to enjoy.
Other software available includes a VR version of Temple Run (yes please!), a Vevo app, Dreamworks VR for a bit of virtual Shrek action and an Avengers app that’ll give wearers a look inside Tony Stark’s laboratory.
The Gear VR Innovator Edition will be available in Frost White from Samsung.com and will be bundled with a GamePad. Don’t forget a Note 4 is required too! There’s no news yet on an international launch, but we’ll keep you posted.
