Resident Evil 7 DLC “isn’t good enough yet,” says Capcom

Resident Evil 7’s Not a Hero DLC has been delayed as Capcom believes it doesn’t live up to the standard set by the original game.

Originally scheduled for a Spring 2017 release, Not a Hero was teased upon completing Resident Evil 7 when it launched back in January.

Producer Koshi Nakanishi announced the sudden delay in a recent video update, apologising for the change in release plans.

‘Our aim is for this content to match the high quality of the main game, so we need more development time in order to achieve that goal,’ Kawata said. Nakanishi hopes the additional development time will help ‘to create something our fans will love, so we hope you understand.’

As far as we know, Not a Hero will star series favourite Chris Redfield as part of an elite umbrella squad. It will also be available for free.

We absolutely adored Resident Evil 7, praising it as the best entry in the series in over a decade.

“After spending years yearning for Resident Evil to return to survival horror, Capcom has done so in absolute style. The switch to first person works wonders for the series and we have a game that feels completely fresh while at the same time has so many moments that will lead series fans to reminisce.”
