No Man’s Sky: How to avoid the game-breaking ‘hyperdrive blueprint’ bug

No Man’s Sky players have begun to encounter a game-breaking bug that can only be solved by wiping your progress – here’s how to avoid it.
This pesky glitch can be encountered by those who pre-ordered the game and have access to a limited edition ship.
Players will find themselves with a starship pre-installed with a hyperdrive at the beginning of the game, essentially skipping a major section of the tutorial.
The big problem arises if you happen to trade your current ship for one without a hyperdrive. With no blueprints to install one, you’ll find yourself stranded in a single star system.

If you want to avoid bumping into this bug we’d recommend avoiding the pre-order ship altogether, or ensuring that you complete every tutorial you come up against.
Doing this should guarantee you access to a hyperdrive blueprint, something that will prove invaluable once you start hopping across the galaxy.
Hello Games is yet to issue a statement regarding the bug, but we suspect it’ll have it patched in an upcoming update.
In other No Man’s Sky related news, players have already discovered more species than exist on our very own planet.
