LG G Watch R arrives in US to battle Moto 360
The Android Wear-packing LG G Watch R is now available to purchase in the United States, Google confirmed on Thursday.
The round-faced smartwatch was announced at IFA 2014 as a rival to the Moto 360, which also runs Google’s wearable software.
Folks in the US can snap up the wearable from the Google Play Store right now for $299 (around £188), with Google pledging to ship the watch in 1-2 days.
The price tag is significant as its more expensive than the $249 Motorola option and makes it the most expensive of the current crop of smart watches.
The US roll out follows last month’s release in Europe and South Korea.
The G Watch R features a matte black, stainless steel bezel, a leather strap and a 1.3-inch P-OLED display.
It features a Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 410mAh battery, 512MB and 4GB of on-board storage. It’s also IP67 water resistant, meaning it can be submerged in a 1m tank of water for 30 minutes.
