Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens confirmed, and it’s coming this summer

After a surprise leak, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming to all available platforms this summer.

It’s been a few years since our last lego journey to a galaxy, far, far away, and now it’s time for another.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will do just that, giving us the chance to play through the excellent new film in all of its blocky glory.

The game will be take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, and aims to provide us with “new insight” on the characters and events of The Force Awakens.

Iconic characters such as Han Solo, Chewbacca and C-3PO will be playable, as well as newcomers Finn, Rey and the adorable Poe Dameron.

You can also explore new locations from The Force Awakens collecting studs and slapping stormtroopers to bits. Some of these locations will include the planet of Jakku and Starkiller Base.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also introduce “brand new gameplay mechanics” to the LEGO franchise, including a new “multi-build” system.

This new system will allow players to choose from different building options when piecing together blocks in the environment.

“Gamers will be able to engage in intense new Blaster Battles for the first time, utilizing surrounding environments to drive back the First Order,” the publisher said.

“Fans can also experience the thrill of high-speed flight gameplay through arena-based battles and dogfights in space, while utilizing a multitude of vehicles along the way, including the legendary Millennium Falcon.”

Warner Bros. has confirmed that Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens will launch on June 28 for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and PC.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers arrived last week; in our review we described it as “a fantastic family game, short on frustration, big on laughs and packed with stuff to do.”
