GTA 6 map to include the whole US?

Rockstar Games could have big ambitions for GTA 6, with the map encompassing the entire USA.

It hasn’t been long since GTA 5 PC was released, but the internet is already gearing up to host all the GTA 6 rumours.

While a lot of fans are still messing around in Los Santos and Blaine County, rumour has it that Rockstar Games might actually map the whole of the US for GTA 6.

It’s already been confirmed that GTA 6 is in development and will be bigger than GTA 5, but is it really possible to map America entirely?

The GTA 6 release date is rumoured to lie somewhere in 2020, giving Rockstar over five years to create the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. If the rumours of the game being set across the US, then five years wouldn’t be that much time for the Rockstar team to recreate the entire US.

It may well mean that we need to take the rumour with a pinch of salt and GTA 6 might actually just include multiple US locations rather than just one city.

Or it could take cues from racer The Crew, which took the US and made it into a smaller, more navigable map that took an hour and a half in real time to drive from one side to the other.

However, Rockstar’s history of city recreation is pretty epic, so we’d be intrigued to see what it has up its sleeves for GTA 6.

The MoviePilot rumour goes on to say that “loading the entirety of the USA would have its issues”, especially as a lot of the country between cities is deserts and countryside, making driving from one locale to the other quite a chore.

With potentially five years to wait until GTA 6 arrives, we’ll be having much the ponder on such an expansive map.
