Europe can watch The Mandalorian on Samsung QLEDs in March

Samsung has confirmed that Disney Plus is coming to its QLED TV range in Europe, but if you’re in the Netherlands, you’re ahead of everyone else

Disney Plus launched in November of 2019 and has picked up some traction with over 28 million people signing up. And unsurprisingly, Samsung has announced the streaming service will join its Tizen OS platform in March.

Samsung TVs in the US already have it, and for Disney Plus subscribers living in the Netherlands, the streaming service is available as of today (13th February). Other European countries will have to wait as the service rolls out across the continent commencing March 24th.

The expectation is that Samsung’s TVs stretching back to 2016 (or models that have Tizen OS) will carry support the service.

Disney Plus is the House of Mouse’ new video streaming service, rivalling the likes of Netflix and Prime Video. It’s home to Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, 20th Century Fox and Disney content, and will be the place to watch Star Wars series The Mandalorian, as well Marvel’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Over 7500 TV shows are currently available, with more than 400 films listed and 100 more coming later this year. In the UK it costs £5.99/month to sign up and £59.99 for the year.

Disney Plus supports Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos, but you won’t get the former on Samsung TVs, and we’re seeking confirmation as to whether Samsung 2020 TVs will support Atmos passthrough for its apps as that wasn’t initially the case with last year’s range.
