CoD Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is coming and could be here very soon

Back in 2016 Activision released a remastered version of the original classic, Call of Duty Modern Warfare. It was a great reward for those buying the Infinite Warfare deluxe edition.
Months after the launch of the weird ‘in space’ game, the company released a standalone version of MW last summer.
Now, judging by a leaked Amazon listing, it appears Activision is going back to the nostalgia well with a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered release planned.
In news to brighten any gamer’s Friday evening, IGN spotted a listing for the as-yet-unannounced game on Amazon Italy.

Interestingly, it promised an April 30 release date for Xbox One and PS4, along with a price tag of just €19.99 (around £17, £22). Should that prove accurate, we imagine Activision will confirm the release sooner rather than later.
It’s somewhat surprising that Activision isn’t offering Modern Warfare 2 as a carrot for the Deluxe Edition of Black Ops 4, given the success of the original remaster, but we’ll take it.
The publisher is holding a community event on May 17 to officially announce Black Ops 4. We’re also expecting even more details at E3 2018 ahead of the October 12 release, which will be the earliest a CoD game has landed in over a decade.
We wouldn’t be surprised if that April 30 release date for MW2 Remastered is just a placeholder and the release will be officially announced at the May 17 event.
Earlier this month we got the first trailer for this year’s instalment, amid hopes the franchise will break the streak of rather lacklustre releases.
Forget what you know.

Given the firm is asking gamers to “forget what you know”, there’s a decent chance we might be in for a long overdue shake-up.
