Star Wars Sky remote

Sky has unveiled a new range of Star Wars-themed remote controls.

To celebrate the brief return of all six Star Wars films to their own Sky channel - unsurprisingly titled Sky Movies Star Wars - Sky has taken the wraps off a new range of pimped out Sky+ remote controls.

The ten new designs print famous Star Wars character motifs onto the front of a standard Sky remote, along with some appropriately re-coloured buttons. These character designs include R2-D2, Yoda, C-3PO, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and two each for Darth Vader and the stormtrooper. Well, the Dark Side is known to be a little greedy, after all.

TechRadar has grabbed some snaps of the remotes, and they look very snazzy indeed. Our vote goes to the R2-D2 and the similarly abstract storm trooper ones (to the left and right in the picture above).

Of course, this promotional move is about more than just the return of the six existing Star Wars films to Sky. You may not have heard, but there's a seventh Star Wars film due out next week.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be a sequel to Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, which originally hit cinemas way back in 1983. It stars much of the original cast, alongside a healthy mixture of newcomers and established Hollywood talent, and is directed by JJ Abrams.

Sky Movies Star Wars will be available to Sky customers on channel 304 between December 11 and January 3. It'll also be available to view through Sky Go.
